Life changes as we climb the new phase of our education, which is college. The simplest change is when you’re free from that daily-wear uniform and free to decide what to wear.
Some of us actually very proud when we’re received in our chosen university, which became the pride of the country. And how excited we are to live in it. We can not wait to be free (as we know, in college we are no longer considered as children, but an independent person who can survive on our own ), we can not wait to mix and match our clothes to the campus, eager to (finally) study our desired subjects, look for a new crush, new environment, new networking, etc etc. Those pleasant imaginations will change at least until we get there.
I used to be a kind of girl who had her own scheduled regular time. Everyday I wake up at 5 AM to go to school and go to bed at 9 PM, or 10 PM at last. It goes the same everyday. But when I entered college, it awakened me. The faculty, which has so many activities and maybe the busiest faculty ever , has given me such a lot experiences to improve, mostly, my soft skills.
Many perspectives that I used to believe in sometimes fade away such as :
- When you plead guilty for sleeping too many hours
- When you just had two hours of sleep (and grateful of it) during exams
- When you drink two cups of coffee a night and mix it with red bull somehow just to stay awake
- When you start to like your panda eyes
- When 6 hours of sleep every night is a blissfulness
- When family time becomes so precious
- When hanging out at the weekend is no longer attractive
- When you miss your leisure time, just relax and being a couch potato for one day
- When you are too tired to cry (because of the exhaustion)
- When quality of life is measured by how productive we are to do something
- When the more activities the more exciting we are
- When your outfit to campus doesn’t matter anymore
- Etc etc
I don’t hate my college life. Of course, because I’m being that part, part of business. But sometimes my tiny mind thinks whether it’s worth enough to my future.
In other hand, it does not always bad.It still gives you chances to have fun. It gives you excitements such as :
- Karaoke ’till gone mad
- Laughed ’till we cried
- Meeting to different companies
- Studying together ’till stressed out
- Exploring Jakarta all day even without using a car, but by public transportation
- Riding a hatchback car at 1 AM with eight person in it.
- Etc etc.
Those kinds of happiness that you might not feel it if you’re not being that part., and I’m thankful for the opportunities that offered to me.
