“We all live with the objective of being happy; our lives are all different and yet the same.” -Anne Frank-

These are thoughts which come from every moment happening between us and other people. What seems easy for us, doesn’t mean vice versa for others.

We sometimes put too much effort to give directions or suggestions for someone. In order to make things easier, we unconsciously make things more complicated. It’s because we simply different.

Occasionally, we have arguments about how we lead people and inject an influence on it,or how we carry responsibility and adjust our flexibility with other people. But sometimes we fail. Not everyone likes what we do, how we lead them, and the way we carry our duties.Everyone has their own leadership style. That’s why there are plenty leadership theories out there.

How we see ourselves is also divergent. Some of us realize that we’re a unique creature and appreciate it. Some of us treat ourselves badly and murmur our way. Your self-acceptance and a person next to you’s self-acceptance may not be the same. It’s because we simply different.

In the end, a skeptical thought argues instead of trying to embrace it, we end up too tired to adjust with others’ mindset. Oh, don’t we think so? Well, whatever it is, life is still going on and diversity is not the one and only homo homini socius’ problems.

“The people are craving for a better world. Let us mobilize them as co-workers for a better world.”-Robert Muller-

How we define justice nowadays? Is it easy or hard to find justice in our country?

Not only in Indonesia, in every part of the world, there are also many people who suffer from injustice that led them to the poor standard of living. While on the other hand, the criminals in this world danced in their suffering. Don’t they know that because of their insane acts, millions of people face a hard time finding a spoon of rice? Or injustice probably not always defined by how difficult they find food. For some people, justice simply established by hearing their aspirations, their complaints, their opinions, then they get what they want. But life is not as easy as pie. Most of those who demanded justice would have to back home empty-handed because they are actually even pressed to say what shouldn’t be said, an untrue statements which create public deceit.I just do not know, how these people find a way to get into heaven? Or at least, how do they pray everyday?

Well, my reflection this week comes from a new insight that sometimes a person is too beside himself, too happy, too proud of what he has so he does not realize that there are still many people out there are not as lucky as him. Too much isn’t good indeed. Now, I can be so dizzy if I meet someone who is always talking about fancy things, things that (might) have achieved by another person, etc.. Life is too pathetic if you can only talk about other people’s lives without any effort to make your lives better than that.

Oh by the way, this cooking-reality-show has a little bit too much drama.Just wondering, is there on earth a heartless chef like him? 😉

“In order to hold on to thoughts of anger, bitterness, revenge, guilt, and shame, we have to use a lot of energy.”-Edwene Gaines-

It is no surprise that anger leads to damaging and devastating effects. When we’re overwhelmed by anger we tend to do something bad. We often become a person who we used to be, your tongue automatically says bitter things, we forget what mom thought us when we were a child, we omit words written in the holy-bible, we hurt people we care about, we turn into a jerk, etc etc.

IMO, the greatest present for our birthday probably not the most wanted gadget, nor an expensive car, nor a ticket to Europe or concert we’ve been dreaming of, nor even the hype Furla Bag. But it is a gift called

“Maturity”

Maturity will guide us how to hold back our emotions, how to control our words when angry, how to use logic when angry, etc. Maturity is such an identity. Perhaps being 40 years old may not have this identity, and being 16 years old may credible enough to have this identity.

“Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.” -Buddha-

“You must learn day by day, year by year, to broaden your horizon. The more things you love, the more you are interested in, the more you enjoy, the more you are indignant about, the more you have left when anything happens.” -Ethel Barrymore-

Life changes as we climb the new phase of our education, which is college. The simplest change is when you’re free from that daily-wear uniform and free to decide what to wear.

Some of us actually very proud when we’re received in our chosen university, which became the pride of the country. And how excited we are to live in it. We can not wait to be free (as we know, in college we are no longer considered as children, but an independent person who can survive on our own ), we can not wait to mix and match our clothes to the campus, eager to (finally) study our desired subjects, look for a new crush, new environment, new networking, etc etc. Those pleasant imaginations will change at least until we get there.

I used to be a kind of girl who had her own scheduled regular time. Everyday I wake up at 5 AM to go to school and go to bed at 9 PM, or 10 PM at last. It goes the same everyday. But when I entered college, it awakened me. The faculty, which has so many activities and maybe the busiest faculty ever , has given me such a lot experiences to improve, mostly, my soft skills.

Many perspectives that I used to believe in sometimes fade away such as :

  • When you plead guilty for sleeping too many hours
  • When you just had two hours of sleep (and grateful of it) during exams
  • When you drink two cups of coffee a night and mix it with red bull somehow just to stay awake
  • When you start to like your panda eyes
  • When 6 hours of sleep every night is a blissfulness
  • When family time becomes so precious
  • When hanging out at the weekend is no longer attractive
  • When you miss your leisure time, just relax and being a couch potato for one day
  • When you are too tired to cry (because of the exhaustion)
  • When quality of life is measured by how productive we are to do something
  • When the more activities the more exciting we are
  • When your outfit to campus doesn’t matter anymore
  • Etc etc

I don’t hate my college life. Of course, because I’m being that part, part of business. But sometimes my tiny mind thinks whether it’s worth enough to my future.

In other hand, it does not always bad.It still gives you chances to have fun.  It gives you excitements such as :

  • Karaoke ’till gone mad
  • Laughed ’till we cried
  • Meeting to different companies
  • Studying together ’till stressed out
  • Exploring Jakarta all day even without using a car, but by public transportation
  • Riding a hatchback car at 1 AM with eight person in it.
  • Etc etc.

Those kinds of happiness that you might not feel it if you’re not being that part., and I’m thankful for the opportunities that offered to me.

“Suddenly I See” -KT Tunstall-

Her face is a map of the world
Is a map of the world
You can see she’s a beautiful girl
She’s a beautiful girl
And everything around her is a silver pool of light
The people who surround her feel the benefit of it
It makes you calm
She holds you captivated in her palm

Suddenly I see (Suddenly I see)
This is what I wanna be
Suddenly I see (Suddenly I see)
Why the hell it means so much to me

I feel like walking the world
Like walking the world
You can hear she’s a beautiful girl
She’s a beautiful girl
She fills up every corner like she’s born in black and white
Makes you feel warmer when you’re trying to remember
What you heard
She likes to leave you hanging on her word

Suddenly I see (Suddenly I see)
This is what I wanna be
Suddenly I see (Suddenly I see)
Why the hell it means so much to me

And she’s taller than most
And she’s looking at me
I can see her eyes looking from a page in a magazine
Oh she makes me feel like I could be a tower
A big strong tower
She got the power to be
The power to give
The power to see

Suddenly I see (Suddenly I see)
This is what I wanna be
Suddenly I see (Suddenly I see)
Why the hell it means so much to me

“To live in this world you must be able to do three things: to love what is mortal; to hold it against your bones knowing your own life depends on it; and, when the time comes to let it go, to let it go.” -Mary Oliver-
